Facilities

The Beach House was built 80 meters from the shoreline. From your veranda you’ll enjoy the most fantastic view on the ocean and botanical gardens.

Built entirely from fallen Nispero (loquat) trees that oxen dragged from deep in the rainforest, the Beach House lies 80m from the shoreline, so you can actually lie in bed and watch waves lap the beach. A thatched dome roof, shuttered windows and rattan walls keep it cool and airy inside, and a beautiful wooden staircase spirals up through the centre.

This is also a split-level design, with a master bedroom on the top floor and an open-plan living space down below – home to a second double bed, a sitting area and a kitchen. The house is great for families (2-5) and there’s an additional single bed for kids who don’t want to share a double with a sibling.

The organically shaped bathroom is enclosed yet light, thanks to a glass roof, and made entirely from stone, with a walk-in shower and plants throughout

Extras in the house:

Sleeps 5 –      Upstairs: 1 King size bed       |       Downstairs: 1 queen size bed + twin

The house is set up for self-catering, with a stove, a fridge,  hot running water (solar
powered) and a good range of utensils, including a juicer and a coffee maker. It has access to a BBQ

Each house includes 24 hour security and safety box. A House Key Security Deposit of US$20 cash will be asked for, in case of losing the keys of any of the houses. The deposit will be returned at the end of your stay.

Children under 3 years old are free. Ages 3 to 9 pay half price. Ages 10 years and older pay as an adult. Each Customer receives a free welcome breakfast on their first day. Additional breakfast is then $10 p,p thereafter. The price of one additional person is $50.

Sustainability

The entire Beach house was built with wood from fallen trees. Before the development of the Beach House, we spent several months finding, cleaning and cutting the lumber of fallen trees in the forest.

Some of the Nispero trees have been on the ground for more than 10 years. These woods are hard as iron and sink in water! Our woods are pulled out of the jungle by oxen, sometimes over distances more than 5 km.

Reservations

Costa Ricans

We promote national tourism and therefore give a 10% discount on the rates mentioned above if you can show us your Costa Rican nationality.

Payment Conditions

In order to secure the reservation of the total amount, there must be a 30%deposit. The remaining 70% must be paid in advance 2 weeks prior the arrival. First night deposit is non refundable.

Cancellations and refund policies

All cancellations must be received in writing via fax or email. All cancellations must be acknowledged by the hotel. In case off any refunds, the first night deposit is not refundable. Fax: (506) 27500261, Mail: reservations@costaricatreehouse.com

Cancellations during the stay apply full charge with a credit note for the nights cancelled. This credit note can be used for a new reservation all year long.

We cannot be responsible for late arrivals (including plane delays), early checkouts, change of plans or rain and landslides.

That means that you can change your plans or have your plans changed on you but you are responsible to pay for the changes, If you need to cancel we will try to resell the reservation dates which is often possible, if so 50%  of the first deposit will be send back to the client via Paypal.
