How To Get Here

If you drive from the airport to san jose the easiest way to get out of the city is to ask a taxi driver to bring you to the exit Guapiles-Limon. This is the highway nr 32. He will probably charge you around $10. If you prefer the adventurous way you, follow my instructions.

Have a save drive with a J

From the airport you drive for about 8 km into the direction of San jose. On your right hand site the Hospital de Mexico will appear.
After the Hospital de Mexico, you take the exit La Uruca.
On the rotonda the third exit.
At the traffic lights right, then you’ll have the cookies factory (you smell it!) Pozuelo on your left hand.
Follow San José, keep the middle lane as much as possible.
After the garage Mercedes/Jeep/Chrysler you will see a Shell gas station at a Y- junction, keep left.
Take the exit Guapiles-Limon.
Follow the road (nr. 32) direction Puerto Limón through Braulio Carrillo National Park and you will pass Costa Rica’s only tunnel.
Follow this road direction Guápiles and pass this town when you go direction Siquirres.
Finally you will reach the coast at Puerto Limón.

Here you will see the containers of the banana and other fruit companies. This is the biggest harbor of Costa Rica.

In Puerto Limón you turn right at the second traffic light, direction Cahuita / Puerto Viejo/ Manzanillo
In Puerto Viejo you follow the paved road alongside the beach.
The tree house is located 5 km south from Puerto Viejo. Follow the road towards Manzanillo. You will cross several small neighborhoods.
At Playa Chiquita you can't miss the speed bump in front of the school.
200 meters more down, you will find the Tree House and Iguanaverde Foundation on your left. Look for the following sign on the left.

The easiest alternative is a taxi for about $7. Call Bull in Puerto Viejo at 8368219. or Luis 8383981

Rent A Car

We can help you to find a rent a car during the stay at the Tree Houses. We have a special car rate from $25 daily or $175 weekly on the “Geely HA manual Gasoline” car insurance and tax are included.

When making reservations with us, we can help you negociate the pick up and delivery of your car free or charge at any destination in the country, while renting yor car for a minimum of 3 days.

You can drive a suzuki ignis 2WD for $34 a day. ( plus $15 insurance)

The drive from San Jose to Puerto Viejo takes about 4 hours. Once in Puerto Viejo you follow the road south another 6 km. After the school in Playa Chiquita, which you can not miss because of the speed bumb, the Tree house is another 300 meters on the left.

Private Transportation

We offer private transportation to the Tree Houses. At any time of the day, our driver will wait for you at the airport or hotel and bring you down. We provide an air-conditioned mini van for up to 9 people. The trip from san jose to the Tree Houses takes around 4 to 5 hours.
